ABSTRACT
This paper gives an overview of the modeling and analysis of CNTs. The models may be primarily grouped under continuum mechanics model and atomistic model. Continuum mechanics models for shells are introduced and their applications for various kinds of analysis of CNTs are presented. More refined nonlocal continuum mechanics models, which allow for the small scale effect, are discussed. A summary as well as recommendations for future research are provided at the end of the section.A more complete review can be found in a forthcoming review article by Wang et al. (2009).
