ABSTRACT
One option for controlling chloride induced corrosion activity in reinforced concrete slabs is to reduce the water content and hence to slow down the cathodic reaction. This can be done in a very cost effective way by applying a coating on the concrete surface and can be considered if the concrete doesn’t show damage and if the chloride content doesn’t exceed about 1% by cement mass.
