ABSTRACT
Carbon capture and storage – currently developing an “Atlas” of possible geological storage sites in South Africa. The country has no major oil or gas reservoirs so is looking at our extensive coal measures and dolomite formations for storage. Other clean coal technologies to capture NOX, SOX, CO2 and organic emissions use conventional, but very expensive gas desulphuriser units.
