ABSTRACT

Thin-walled cylindrical shells are used in numerous applications such as tanks, silos or space launchers. A correct design has to prevent buckling phenomena, which may occur under specific loading conditions. It is well-known that for a real-imperfect-structure, the ultimate load can be greatly dependant on the presence of geometrical imperfections.
