ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Educational systems around the world are under increasing pressure to use the new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to teach students the knowledge and skills they need in the 21st century. Organizations today are looking beyond the automation of traditional training models to new approaches to knowledge transfer and performance support that are better aligned with business goals and deliver measurable results. By focussing on the specific business objective, rather than the learning technology, we are given the opportunity to fundamentally re-think how we design and deliver learning programmes. In this paper we consider the potential impact of blended learning in higher education with regard to pedagogy in the teaching and learning process and how the quality of higher education could be achieved by integrating it into the teaching and learning process in higher learning institutions. It also discusses the key issues of quality of higher education and how quality can be improved through blended learning modes with an analysis of some case studies.
