ABSTRACT
Almost all products from a fuels refinery are blended, even asphalt. Up until the late 1960s, products had to be blended in batches because computer capability was inadequate and on-line blending instrumentation was not available. Today, even small refineries use on-line blending because the equipment is relatively inexpensive and cost savings as compared to batch blending are significant.
