ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a review of the various plasma-mediated treatments of wood reported in the literature. Some of these works presented extensive detail, and others only described the process with the plasma-parameters. This is because of the high diversity of the plasma tools involved in the modification of wood surfaces, the complexity of the environment in the plasma discharges, and the main focus of many researchers in the characteristics of the plasma-generated surfaces, which result in a black-box-like representation of the plasma processes.
