Since approximately 25% of epilepsy patients remain insufficiently controlled by current conventional approaches1, interest in alternative treatments is high. In addition, many epilepsy patients may try to pursue alternative treatment options to avoid the well-known cognitive side-effects of most anticonvulsant medications2,3, which include sedation, psychomotor slowing and dyscoordination.
