ABSTRACT
Business information systems and metrics systems are interrelated but manifest a testy relationship. The metrics system attempts to address all the processes, while the archetypal information system focuses on shortterm business results. The former provides a fertile ground for process research; the latter is anchored to issues related to delivery.
