ABSTRACT
As mentioned in Chapter 1, Part I describes various key supporting technologies for Web mining. We provided an overview of data mining in Chapter 3 and some more details on core data mining technologies in Chapter 4. There are several other supporting technologies for Web data mining. This chapter describes another major supporting technology for Web mining: Web data management. That is, one has to manage the databases on the Web so that these databases can be mined effectively. In other words, data mining and Web data management are two of the core supporting technologies for Web data mining.
