ABSTRACT

Although the behaviour of IS deeply disturbs us, and we consider it objectively completely unacceptable and without any possible justification, we are not like Ivan, forgetting his kindred. Now, as before, we believe that he has many scientific merits, that he has surrounded himself with capable and decent people, that we have obtained a great deal from our interaction with him and his friends. We also suppose that his blunder may largely be associated with his incorrect understanding of questions of priority. For example, whatever a person has done himself, he cannot claim priority if the same result was obtained earlier by others.
