ABSTRACT
Ovarian carcinoma makes up 4% of all female cancers. In the UK there are approximately 7000 new cases per year and there are 20700 new cases in the USA where it is the commonest cause of death from gynaecological malignancy. Median age at diagnosis is 60 to 65 years and it is rare in women under 30 years old.
