ABSTRACT
Planting resistant cultivars is one of the most efficient and effective methods of disease control. Host resistance eliminates or minimizes losses due to diseases and reduces the need for and cost of other controls. Resistance is compatible with other methods of disease and pest control and it can be integrated easily in pest management programs (Chapter 35).
