ABSTRACT

Chemstation macros can be written in any text editor such as notepad or wordpad. Instead of using the default extension (*.txt), Chemstation macros use the extension (*.mac). Macros written in a standard text editor require that the user manually modify the extension prior to saving with the default (*.txt) to the required (*.mac). All macros should be saved to the path…\hpchem\core\ (which by default is c:\hpchem\core). Macro filenames must also not exceed the old Windows 3.1 filename convention of 8.3 (eight-character name, three-character extension “ --------.---”). A macro with a filename of nine characters or more cannot be loaded into the Chemstation environment. The Chemstation command line is identified by the bold text command line in Figure 7.1. All commands to load, reload, and run macros are typed in the command line.
