ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: We present some first order schemes for compressible flow problems. Since the literature on the topic is huge, we foccus on the case of caloricaly perfect gas. After having introduced some element about the mathematical structure of the problem, we explain the basics about the conservative schemes. Then we give several examples aimed at illustrating the behavior of schemes on some crucial issues such as the positivity of pressure and density, the respect of some flow structure as contact lines, etc.
