Potential use of production and biomass for life-history comparisons of sea urchins

A graph of M vs. K shows a positive relationship for a variety of species (Beverton & Holt 1956, Shine & Charnov 1992, Charnov 1993) including sea urchins (Ebert 1975, 2007). The meaning is clear: species that approach maximum size slowly (small K) also tend to have low mortality (small M).
