ABSTRACT
These are a common reason for pediatric attendance in the emergency department, and many can be managed well as an outpatient. The clinical presentation of each infection depends on specific characteristics of the infecting organism and the location and depth of the infection. Characteristics of bacterial skin infections are listed in Table 23.1.
