7.1. CONSTRUCTING SMOOTH INVARIANTS
ON 2-ATOMS
In this chapter we study the question on the classication of Hamiltonian vector
elds with one degree of freedom in the smooth case. Of course, all the topological
invariants constructed in the preceding chapter remain smooth invariants, but this
is not enough for the smooth classication. However, although the set of smooth
invariants is much bigger than that of topological invariants, the construction
of smooth invariants is simpler and more natural.
