ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: In order to fix the weakness of traditional approach for crop risk assessment, this paper has proposed a new approach based on data integration to assess the farmlevel yield risk. After describing the proposed approach, an empirical study on assessing the farm-level risk for corn, wheat, peanut, rice, and soybean has been done. It is found that: a) Traditional approach do underestimate the real risk of farmers’, and the bias magnitude is influenced by crop varieties and planting location; b) the proposed approach can not only assess the crop yield risk accurately but can also assess the crop yield risk resulting from specific disaster.
