ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Climate change has a great effect on various regions and different industries of China, while the most is on agriculture. East China is one of the China’s major grain production bases. By using principal component analysis and Multiple Regression Method with SPSS software, this article conducts a comprehensive analysis of food production in East China based on C-D-C model. It mainly assesses the effect of some decisive factors on total grain output in east China, Shanghai, Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang included. Factors considered contain the economic factors including labor force, arable land and capital investment, and climatic factors represented by temperature and precipitation during the growth period. Eventually known acreage and fertilizer use was the main economic factor on the impact of climate change, in the meanwhile, the impact of climatic factors on grain production in East China is negative and the temperature is the main factor of climate impact.
