ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The internal wave is a significant phenomenon in northern South China Sea (NSCS). Internal wave is closely linked with engineering oceanography, military oceanography and other field. Internal wave, especially internal solitary wave has an important influence on offshore oil drilling platform productions and submarine activities. Existing meteorological and hydrological ensuring conditions and methods can not be effective forecasting and ensuring of internal solitary waves in the South China Sea. In this paper, using three-dimensional ocean Model MITgcm, we set a numerical model about internal waves in the NSCS. Checking the Model results is similar with realities. This paper does basic work on internal wave numerical forecasting system in the northern South China Sea.
