ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Pure end-member pixel was extracted from Landsat TM data, the outside data pool. Based on Planck’s Law and Dozier Model, model of assessing the area of fire position was established based on the sub-pixel image of grassland fire of EOS/MODIS data. We used the model to measure a fire point in East Ujimqin Qi, Xilin Gol League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, at 13:40 on April 7th, 2012. The result of the calculation shows that: If the problem of mixed pixel were ignored, the area of fire position is 192 square kilometers; the area is 79.29 square kilometers by means of the established sub-pixel assessing model. Therefore, it’s known that area assessing technology of sub-pixel can improve the sensing accuracy of prairie conflagrations so as to provide better service for the battle against prairie conflagrations and the emergency management affairs.
