ABSTRACT

Some researchers have studied CO2 storage utilizing industrial waste as raw material. However, there are few reports about mineral CO2 storage by desulfurization gypsum. Wang et al. (2009) investigated the reaction mechanisms of desulfurization gypsum carbonation in aqueous. The result showed that the optimal L/S ration is 2 kg/kg. The conversion rate of desulfurization gypsum still needs to be improved. Cardenas-Escudero et al. (2011) used phosphorgypsum as mineral carbonation material. However, the additive of NaOH causes high cost. So CO2 separation with waste gypsum should be strengthened by seeking effective and cheaper additive.
