ABSTRACT
As everyone knows, the regenerant used in traditional feedwater softening is NaCl solution. After the Na+ exchanges with hardness ion in raw water, the feedwater contains amount of Na+ will flow into industrial boilers. The decomposition of sodium salt in boiler water will generate strong alkaline that may lead to alkaline corrosion and caustic embrittlement of metal in industrial boiler system. The way of pollution discharge can decrease the alkalinity in boiler water, but it wastes lots of water and brings hidden danger to safe operation of boilers[1].
