ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: Four piano key weirs (PKW) have already been built by EDF on its existing dams from 2006 to 2010: Goulours dam on the Lauze river (East Pyrenees), Saint Marc dam and Etroit dam on the Taurion river (Centre of France) and Gloriettes dam on the Gave d’Estaubé (West Pyrenees). EDF Hydro Engineering center has designed these PKW from pre feasibility stages to the Concept Designs and has subsequently supervised their constructions. Feedbacks have been performed on varied topics related to design and construction in order to enhance the development of PKW. These feedbacks will offer EDF strong savings in design and construction steps in future and ongoing projects.
