ABSTRACT

In water depths of more than 20 m, tripod or jacket foundation structures can be favourably used for the support of the wind tower. Usually open-ended steel pipe piles with a constant outer diameter between 1.5 m and 3.0 m are used to transfer the loads into the ground. Since the required depth of the driven piles in most cases depends on the tension loading case, only tensile pile capacities are considered in this paper.
