ABSTRACT

In surface parts of the terrain, travertine is mostly in the solid state, crumbly and decomposed to a lesser or greater extent, and in deeper parts of the geological profile it is poorly diagenetically cemented because of uncompleted calcification process and higher presence of the clayey fraction.
