ABSTRACT
There is ever-increasing evidence to support potential clinical applications of probiotics in the prevention and treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urogenital tracts. Research is showing potential for probiotics in human trials in the prevention of diarrhea caused by certain pathogenic bacteria and viruses
and in the management of inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn’s disease.
