ABSTRACT

References Bleomycin has been used in the treatment of warts since the early 1970s. The exact mechanism by which bleomycin leads to resolution of warts is not understood, although damage to viral DNA and antiviral effects are thought to play a primary role. Most clinical trials demonstrated significant benefit from intralesional bleomycin injections, but others did not and this led to controversy about its true effectiveness.1,2 Treatment is generally well tolerated by patients.
