ABSTRACT

Twenty-five years after the first birth from in vitro fertilization (IVF), and almost 20 years since the first ovum donation (OD) birth, we still face numerous dilemmas in assisted reproduction, some newer than others. Assisted reproductive techniques (ART) have been integrated into the framework of our family structuring and our societies, and many initial issues raised by these new technologies cannot even be thoroughly discussed in books solely dedicated to the subject.1,2 The choices made below must perforce be eclectic and reflect current concerns.
