ABSTRACT

Values of dynamic advancing contact angles θA were calculated assuming γA=γo. The results of calculation are shown in Fig. 28 by curve 1. The contact angle value reached a

maximum in the region of CTAB concentration near 10−5 M. As was concluded in Refs. 44 and 45, this is the result of the

action of hydrophobia attraction forces in the thin aqueous interlayer between quartz surface and oil. In the region of concentration near 10−5 M, the silicon oil interface remains still hydrophobic, whereas the quartz surface becomes already hydrophobic. This corresponds to the highest manifestation of hydrophobic attraction forces between film interfaces.
