ABSTRACT
The importance of eye disease in diabetes lies in the simple fact that diabetes is the single most common cause of blindness in the 20-60-year age group. This chapter briefly summarizes the ocular manifestations of diabetes, the size of the problem, its detection and treatment. In no other aspect of diabetes care is integrated shared care more important.
