Second Order Delay Differential Equations

In this chapter we investigate the existence of nonoscillatory solutions of second order delay differential equations.

In Section 5.2 we present results on the existence of nonoscillatory solutions of delay differential equations. In Section 5.3 we give a classification scheme for eventually positive solutions of a class of second order nonlinear iterative differential equations, and provide necessary and/or sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions. In Sections 5.4 and 5.5 we introduce the classification of nonoscillatory solutions for second order nonlinear neutral differential equations under the conditions

∫∞ ds/r(s) < ∞ and ∫∞ ds/r(s) = ∞. Various existence results of

nonoscillatory solutions of different type are given, respectively.
