ABSTRACT

An already noted, in an ABS that has no independent means of finding the vehicle velocity, the ECU memory in many such systems may contain typical data for the decrease in velocity as the brakes are applied for a selected road condition, as represented by the upper curve in Figure 2. The bottom graph in Figure 8 shows the pressure changes as commanded for a wheel by an ECU that does not alter the reference angular velocity ω0 for zero slip while the ABS is in control of braking. The dashed lines labeled ω1 and ω2 bound the range of ω within which µB is at or near its maximum value.
