ABSTRACT

The Woodcutters anomaly was discovered in 1966 and mining commenced in 1984 (ERAES, 1992). The principal ore minerals were galena (PbS) and sphalerite (ZnS), associated with pyrite (FeS2), with minor lead antimony/arsenic sulfosalts, accessory sulfide species including arsenopyrite (FeAsS), in a mainly quartz and dolomite gangue

Samples initially sieved to <2 mm were ground to <20 μm for X-ray analysis. Composite samples from 5-10 sites in categories listed in Table 1 together with an individual sample contributing to each of the composite sample. Total As concentrations were determined by ICP-MS on aqua regia digests of the samples.
