ABSTRACT
This chapter covers some theoretical aspects and several areas of modelling of atmospheric dispersion of a passive substance. After the introduction there is a section containing fundamentals about molecular diffusion. It has a derivation of Fick’s law including sinks and sources of a passive substance. Some simple cases of sources and sinks are presented and their physical meaning discussed. At the end, we examine the point source substance diffusion in the case of a constant wind.
