ABSTRACT
The CT of cold drawn and parent was determined in simulated pore alkaline solutions and in mortar. Fresh alkaline solutions were prepared for each test, all saturated in Ca(OH)2 (pH ≈ 12.5 at 25°C) and some containing also 0.5 M KOH (pH ≈ 13.5 at 25°C). De-ionized water free of CO2 was used to prepare the test solutions to guarantee the alkalinity of the environment.
