ABSTRACT

The jetty is located on the northern coast of the Persian Gulf, north of the Strait of Hormuz, near the port of Bandar-Abbas. This structure is located in a region classified as hot and wet according to climatic classifications of Fookes et al. (Fookes P G, Simm J D, Barr Jm, 1989). The structural layout is shown in Fig. 1 and consists of two main parts of Unloading Pier and Channel Bridge. The unloading pier is made from cast-in-place reinforced concrete cross girders along with a steel-concrete composite deck, and the channel bridge consists of a 64-span-bridge with length of 1600 m which connects the Unloading Pier and the coast. Every span is composed of three prestressed box girders and two steel cross girder-pile systems.
