ABSTRACT

Natural calcareous medium (4/12 mm) and coarse (12/20 mm) aggregates as well as natural calcareous sand (0/4 mm) were employed for concrete preparation.

Three different types of inhibitors were investigated:

• The first inhibitor was a calcium nitrite (CNI). This corrosion inhibitor contains minimum 30% active ingredients by mass. Its density is about 1.90 g/cm3, and its pH value is 7. The water content of CNI is approximately 30%; this amount was taken into account for the calculation of the water-to-cement ratio (W/C).
