A variety of criteria have been suggested to describe potentially harmful reactions, with a maximum permissible expansion of 0.1% after 14 days testing being the most usual quoted. It is also recommended to use the extended expansion limits of 0.28% at 28 days and 0.47% at 56 days, proposed by Islam (2010).
