ABSTRACT

It can also be used for architectural applications such as nailing concrete, false facades, stone backing as well as interior construction due to its light unit weight. Although RMSCC is lower in strength, it can still be used for the construction of sidewalks, driveways and selected road construction applications like crash barriers around bridges due to its high toughness qualities (Eldin and Senouci, 1993, Reda et al., 2008). RMSCC can also be used for vibration dampening in foundation pads for machinery and railway stations. It provides resistance to impact or explosion such as railway buffers, bunkers and jersey barriers or as a trench fill material and pipe bedding (Nehdi and Khan, 2001).
