ABSTRACT

At present in several service life models the migration coefficient is introduced as one of the model parameters, e.g. in DuraCrete (2000) and the fib Model Code (2006). Although the migration test has gained enormous popularity in recent years, especially among commercial laboratories, there is serious concern on the validity of the theory supporting the migration test as well as on the influence of the test conditions on the overall result. This paper addresses some of these concerns in more detail.
