ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The paper describes an experimental apparatus developed at the Institute for Problems in Mechanics of the Russian Academy of Sciences-a Triaxial Independent Load Test System. A research methodology is presented for rock properties at a specific field in order to identify the best well stimulation method to increase the well flow rate. Some findings of the experimental research are given and their correlation with field test data is shown. The paper also describes a method for the identification of the parameters for the trouble-free drilling and operation of directional and horizontal wells such as bottomhole pressure versus hole angle using the experimental apparatus. The findings are consistent with practical data.
