ABSTRACT

In the last few years genome analysis has drawn ample attention in the light of the unprecedented self-imposed task of mapping and sequencing the entire human genome within 15 years. In the framework of this, genomes of several other lower organisms are already in the process of being mapped and sequenced to provide systems in which to test methods of genome analysis. Not only will these latter projects provide insight into the biology of the organisms themselves but also? by comparative analysis, into that of a host of other organisms including the human species.
