ABSTRACT

Obtaining information about the state of the control plant, particularly about the control variables, is of key importance in control design. It is especially important when designing a high quality, high precision electrical drive, requiring both static and dynamic limits. The traditional approach based on direct measurement of all necessary control coordinates leads to considerable complication of the electrical drive design, which deteriorates its operation and cost indexes. It is possible to overcome these limitations by excluding sensors for those variables whose direct measurement is undesirable. So, they are estimated using observers instead, and used in control design (Consoli, 2000), (Dote, 1988), (Luenberger, 1966), (Holtz, 2004).
