ABSTRACT
Incidence of biochemical marker release during intervention The assessment of outcome following coronary intervention has included assessment of periprocedural MI. As data on cardiac enzyme accumulation after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) become available, the true incidence of non-Q-wave or ‘enzyme-only’ MI is becoming clearer. The accuracy of these data is dependent upon comprehensive and complete monitoring of enzymes after ‘uncomplicated angioplasty’.
