ABSTRACT
The early postoperative period is a direct consequence of events that took place intraoperatively. Of great influence are the circumstances affecting the success of surgery, such as age and race of the patient; preoperative ocular states such as aphakia, or previous ocular surgery, are also factors of paramount importance. An accurate assessment of the patient’s postoperative condition, as well as correct decision-making, influence whether surgery will be successful or not.
