ABSTRACT
Now we have reached the stage where there is no building type which does not possess an electro-acoustic system. Also, in the open air, the electro-acoustic system plays an important role as an information service in the outdoor environment. An architectural or environmental planner must, therefore, have a basic knowledge of that system sufficient to enable him to cooperate with an audio engineer. In this chapter we shall discuss several items which are closely related to the basic scheme for both the architecture and the environment, especially the sound reinforcement system which is the most important equipment as far as planning the electro-sound is concerned.
