ABSTRACT

There exist some possible choices in the design of the curve. In this research, the square of sine function is used as the first segment curve, which has smooth gradual change (according to the speed characteristics) and good differential properties ( according to the acceleration characteristics). In addition an exponential function is selected for the second segment curve. Naturally, the two segment curves should be connected smoothly. Figure 4 shows the curve and its parameters. Its equations are as follows:
