ABSTRACT

Since the application of digital techniques in geoscience, geographical source data are often merged using various sources in order to meet the requirements of user’s applications. The end result is that data collectors, who originally collect data about a feature, have lost the degree of control over the data sets which traditional data collectors for analogue maps enjoyed. As a result, collectors of data are lacking the description of the quality of the spatial data by the producer, so that it appears to meet the demands of the potential customers.
